Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Procurement Manager is an individual contributor and is responsible for negotiating favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers, and prepares and processes requisitions and tactical purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use. They will conduct full development life cycle including interviews of users, development of requirements documents, creating design specifications and implementation of requirements. They will also drive ongoing supplier optimization and continuous improvement. This is a hybrid position and this person will be expected to come into the office 3x per week. Travel expectations are 25%

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for multiple procurement activities while balancing both site and corporate objectives.
  • Responsible to lead a team of Procurement Specialists and/or Buyers and work with cross-functional groups to generate PPV cost savings through negotiation and resourcing activities globally. Upon request, supports the Value Engineering side of procurement by assisting in identifying opportunities, negotiating prices, bid analyses, and communicating with suppliers.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.
  • A Functional area manager responsible for the generation and sustainment of PPV either through individual, team or cross-functional involvement. He will serve as the Site Procurement SME to capacitate and coach the Purchasing team on Global Procurement Excellence practices.
  • Utilizes Envista Business System (EBS) reporting tools to extrapolate analyze and interpret data to help assess and deliver cost savings results.
  • Implements visual management of key data for cost savings, supplier spend, days payable outstanding, supplier rationalization, supplier risk, contractual coverage, and other sourcing related key performance indicators.
  • Constructs savings budgets and forecasts to communicate anticipated cost savings and impact to company financial performance
  • Drafts and reviews comprehensive supply agreements to capture company expectations and ensure supply chain continuity
  • Leads and participates in PPV workshops that review spending and manufacturing activity to identify ways to reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality, delivery, and inventory.
  • Utilizes Funnel Management processes and techniques to prioritize and drive PPV savings projects.
  • Manages supplier qualification and selection process to evaluate and qualify potential candidates. This can consist of RFQs, supplier process validations, first articles, and quality audits to ensure that supplier can meet the specifications and requirements needed.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures and Master Protocols to ensure data accuracy. Uses supplier performance scorecards for quality, delivery, and cost to facilitate the alignment of capabilities to our business requirements.
  • Conducts supplier risk management by reviewing sourcing restrictions, revenue impacts, supplier evaluation ratings, and supplier stability indicator scores. Uses evaluation to develop plans for high risk parties.
  • Visits major vendors to discuss issues/concerns to maintain good relationships as required. Responsible for following procedures for approval of new vendors and helps manage the approved supplier list, including documents required for BSI, FDA, and other internal audit support along with the SQA.
  • Organizes and supports tactical buying activities by assuring best price and quality for all direct and indirect material items/commodities.
  • Stays aware and informed on current commodity trends in the marketplace.
  • Ensures that suppliers are adhering to developed routing guides and established corporate guidance.
  • Project Management leader for the department and their individual projects. Regular support for Procurement's role with new product development initiatives to launch new products at Implant Direct. Acts as reporting lead in operations and procurement policy deployment and other meetings such as the change control board, gross margin and other meetings related to project prioritization for cost savings initiatives.
  • Responsible for working with Cross-Functional teams to help drive and deliver innovation and new products by assisting in implementing strategic cost techniques to minimize upstream exploratory costs and the subsequent costs that will be associated with product sustainment post launch.
  • Develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
  • Develops and maintains a system (tooling data base) for assets at 3rd party vendors to properly track guaranteed output quantities, quantify and forecast maintenance & repair cost for the yearly budgeting process.
  • Cultivates and sustains an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation and motivation of department personnel. Ensure the smooth functioning of the strategic procurement and tactical purchasing through training, developing, and tracking as appropriate.
  • Follows GMP, ISO, FDA and all regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials Management, Industrial Engineering, or other related field.
  • 3+ years of Project Management of cross functional resources; PPV & VAVE savings experience required
  • 5+ years of Procurement and Materials Management experience; direct and indirect materials

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
